Michaela's Dress Rehearsal!!

WOW! What a week we have had! Busy, busy to say the least. Last night was Michaela's Dance Recital, so that meant we had dance practice EVERY night this past week!!! The week was a whirlwind of plies, piques, tapping, heal digs, twirling, bobby pins, hairspray, tutus, and so on. It was a BLAST!! I just love having Girls, so I can enjoy this with them. (I signed up to be a Back Stage Mom EVERY night =), Yes, I am one of "those" Moms. (whatever that means to you), but for me, I LOVE it. I thought MJ was too young to be back there so long without me, and plus, I had such a good time observing her dance, interact with her friends, listen to Miss Valerie, and watch her eyes light up as she observed the Older Girls dance! Now, I am Exhausted, but it was SO worth it.)

This first picture is of my Mom helping MJ put on my face powder for Dress Rehearsal. I just LOVE my Mom and don't know what I would do without her. She is ALWAYS there for us and I am so glad that she was willing to come back and help me get MJ dressed and ready. (especially since I had 5 other dancers from MJ's class to watch). Some of my fondest dance memories are of my Mom taking me backstage and doing my makeup and hair and helping me get ready for the show!! As I was watching my Mom with Michaela, it was like I was back as a child and she was helping me!

I took this shot of MJ as she was exiting the stage after just finishing her 1st dance number, a tap routine to "3 Little Fishes." She was SO proud and ALL smiles.

This was MJ's Ballet costume. By far, her favorite!! She just ADORED this costume! With her Blue eyes, she looked simply beautiful in it!

It was a challenge trying to keep the girls entertained while they were waiting to go on stage, but me and the other Backstage Moms managed to keep them occupied =)

Michaela - you lit up the stage. You could tell by your smile that you loved every minute on the stage while you were dancing. You were superb....and you look beautiful. You remembered everything that Miss Valerie taught you in dance class. I just loved the curtsy at the end. You make me smile. I love you bunches and bunches and are so proud of you. Can't wait until next year.
I love you,
Mom Mom
