Madelin's Dedication

On October 19, 2008, we had Madelin's Dedication Service.

(These pictures are from that day...I don't know why it slipped my mind to post them, but because this is important to us, I am posting it regardless of how "late" the post may be.)

Bill Heider had Matt, me, Michaela and my parents come up in front of our church, family, and friends. He read Scriptures about the importance of raising your child in a godly home. It was great that he had Mom and Dad join us up there, because Grandparents also play a vital role in the upbringing. After Bill read the verses, he asked Matt and me to read our message to Madelin that he asked us to prepare before hand. Matt and I put a lot of thought and prayer into these words. I have typed them below.

Dearest Madelin,

We are so thankful that God blessed us with you, such a beautiful baby
girl. We know that you are on loan to us from God and we can't imagine a
more serious responsibility. As we journey through this life together and
learn all of the wonderful ways God has made you uniquely gifted and
special, it is our hope and prayer that we will show you how to use your
gifts and life to love The God that first loved you. We are not
perfect...far from it actually. But, with God's grace, we are promising
today to do our best to reflect Christ in our home so that you will learn
how much God loves you. He has a wonderful plan for your life, and we will
help you discover what that is and direct and encourage you along the way.
Sweet girl, we love you unconditionally. God does, too.

Col. 1:9-10 "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not
stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his
will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in
order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in
every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of
God."

This is our prayer for you...to live for God and love Him more every day.

(Note to Remember: Madelin wore the same dress that Michaela was dedicated in. We thought that was just perfect since we were making the Same promise!! Both girls looked Beautiful in the dress too.)
