MJ's Words

Dear Friends and Family,

This post will not have a picture to go along with it, but I wanted to let you all know what Michaela has been saying recently. Since her 18th month, she has been putting words together to make mini-sentences. The last time Uncle Matthew was here, as him and Mom were getting ready to leave our house she said, "Bye-Bye Mommom and Ma-moo." (Ma-moo is how she says Matthew). This morning when I went in her room to wake her up, she pointed to her knee and said, "Mommy, boo-boo baby, Oh No!" I was so excited and thought it was the cutest thing. Note: the word "Boo-boo" has become one of her favorite words to use. She has a little scratch on her knee from playing outside and points it out about 20 times a day for me to kiss it.

As mentioned earlier, she has also started to pick up on phrases that Matt and I say. Two of her favorites are "Wow," which she pronounces "Bow" and "Oh No." Since she has started saying these two, I realized that I do say these phrases a lot, before that however, it never occurred to me how much I say them. She is a great communicator and so smart.

Here are a list of words that she says: (in no particular order) (I just wanted to jot some down before I forget and it is easier to do this on the Blog first and then later, I can transfer the info into her Baby Book) (Note: a lot of these words are not new)

What a smart girl you are Michaela. You have so much to say! I'm very impressed by all of the wonderful words you are using. Not even two years old yet and you are already combining words together to form sentences. Good for you! I can't wait to talk with you in August. Keep up the good work Michaela.

Love,
Rebecca

P.S. Children learn much of their language from adult modeling so KUDOS to you, Matt & Melissa, for being such great language models to Michaela!

Way to go Michaela! What an excellent repertoire of words! You'll be speaking in paragraphs before you know it! I'm also very impressed that you recognize green lights when you pass by them!
